heartHello!  I am so glad that you stopped by to check out my webpage.  I have been anxiously awaiting our new school year.  This is my 28th year of teaching elementary school students.  I have taught 5th grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade.  Most of my career has been spent in 2nd grade.  I love my 2nd graders!!!
yesMy name is Junetta West and most of my students call me Mrs. West.  I don't care if they call me Mrs. Junetta though.  Most of the teachers were called by their last names when I began teaching, so it just kind of stuck.  I am 49 year old and was raised in Casey County, where I taught 11 years at the elementary school in the school I attended as a child.  When my daughter began kindergarten, it became important that I was working closer to our home.  Therefore, I began applying for jobs at Russell County.
kissI am married to Mick West who has lived in Russell County all of his life.  We have a farm and he raises soybeans.  We have a daughter, Kelsey and a son-in-law named Michael.  They will be having a baby in January of 2019.  Michael also has a daughter named Bella.  She calls me her "Banana."  We also have a son named Colby who is a junior in high school.  He is 16 and works at Priceless.
cheekyWe have three dogs that are a big part of our lives.  Dazzy is our outside dog and she is a mix breed.  She is really getting old.  Maggie is our little indoor dog and she is absolutely the best pet EVER.  She is a Schnoodle (Schnauzer and Poodle) and she is about three years old.  She loves to bark at people who come to the door and she likes snuggling with her dad during TV time.  We would be lost without her.  She sleeps with us every night.   We also have a new dog that we rescued from Greenville, Tennessee this summer.  He is a Golden Doodle named Cody and full of evergy.  I love him most days, but he is sometimes a bit more than I can handle.
