Jean Clement
Russell County Middle School

A proud native of Russell County, I am always pleased to say that I was a member of Mr. Vernie McGaha's mighty Laker Marching Band.  My music scholarship helped me attend and graduate from Campbellsville College in 1979, launching me into an exciting career as a teacher.

While teaching at Waddill Avenue Elementary School, in Madisonville, KY, I welcomed my first son into this world, Nathan Clement.  Soon afterwards I taught for Ninth-and-O Baptist Academy in Louisville, KY, followed by a teaching position at Campbellsville Elementary School under the supervision of Dr. Larry Ennis.  During that time my second son, Kyle Clement, was born.  In 1986 I began a teaching job in Corpus Christi, Texas, and earned a Master's degree in general education at Corpus Christi University.

Our next adventure was to Guam, where St. John's Episcopal School and Academy was gracious to hire me to teach fifth grade for one-and-a-half years.  My two sons and I totally enjoyed snorkeling and site-seeing at every opportunity while living in this beautiful tropical paradise!  While on Guam I was blessed with multiple travel opportunites, visiting Korea, Bali, China, Hong Kong, and Japan.

The Clement family relocated from Guam to Groton, and eventually to North Stonington, Connecticut, where my teaching capacities varied from Math/Computer Lab Assistant to long-term substituting.

Finally we moved to Russell County.  I was substituting at Russell Springs Elementary when God blessed me with a full-time position at John Adair Middle School in Columbia, KY, from 1995 to 1999.  God blessed me again when I was hired to teach at Russell County Middle School in 1999.

I continued my education and received my Rank I in General Education from Western Kentucky University.

Environmental Education has been another passion in my life, and I have been fortunate to lead RCMS into "celebrity status" with a comprehensive recycling program in the school, district, and in the community.

My career as a teacher has been thirty-six years long, and I still love to teach!
