For the 2016-17 school year, it is my goal to apply for and receive the "Georgia Davis Powers Award" for RCHS.  The "Georgia Davis Powers" Award is named for the most famous Kentucky state senator who encouraged so many young Kentuckians to make a difference.  In honor of Senator Powers' support of young people, the Secretary of State's office has created this award that is given to high schools with 100% of eligible students registered to vote.  When a school reaches 100% registration of eligible students, a plaque signifying this achievement will be presented to the school principal at an assembly featuring Secretary Grimes or a representative of the Secretary of State's office.

  • Register to vote in the library!

Any student who will be 18 years old by November 8, 2016 can register to vote in this year's election.  The registration deadline is October 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm.  I will have voter registration cards available for students to use in addition to computers provided for registering online.  My goal is to have all of our eligible students registered by the October 11th deadline.  All students who will be 18 AFTER November 8 will STILL be encouraged to register.  Please see me for more details!
